Specialty Camps

2008 brings new adventures to day camps in Kernersville. We are thrilled to offer specialty camps that focus on a specific skill while enjoying the traditions of camp. Each camp will spend a half day at the YMCA learning their chosen skills. Campers will then return home or take advantage of our full day camp option. All camps run from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

 

Cost: $65.00 for members

         $95.00 for non members

Girls Only: Session 5 July 7-11

 

This special program provides girls with the opportunity to celebrate the unique spirit of being a girl and to explore her own individuality. Topics of discussion will cover self-esteem, body image, peer pressure, and teamwork. There is also a lot of time to socialize and hang out with friends.

 

Guys Only: Session 5 July 7-11 

This program has been specifically designed to harness the quality of boys and young men. Teambuilding, peer pressure, sport, and male bonding are just a few topics that will be covered. Lots of opportunity will be given to these young men to burn off excess energy and discover what it means to be a young man.

 

Babysitting Camp: Session 3 & 9 June 23-27 & Aug. 4-8

 

Spend the week training to learn how to become a certified babysitter. The class teaches games for younger children, caring for younger children, and responsibility. Each participant will receive a babysitting kit, a portfolio of useful tips and an official American Red Cross certification in babysitting. Available for rising 5th graders to rising 9th graders.
